When a prescription is required
Prescription-only medicines are supplied only against a valid prescription from a Registered Medical Practitioner and remain subject to review by an authorised pharmacist. Uploading a document or completing payment does not guarantee dispensing.
- Schedule H, H1 and X medicines require prescription controls
- The prescribed medicine will not be substituted where substitution is prohibited
- We may limit, hold or cancel an order when lawful dispensing requirements are not met
What we accept
Upload a clear, unedited JPG or PNG photograph of the original prescription. The complete page and all writing must be readable.
- Prescriber name, signature and prescription date
- Patient name and other required patient particulars
- Medicine name, strength, quantity, dose and directions
- A prescription that is current, legible and relevant to the medicines ordered
What we reject
- AI-generated, fabricated, altered or computer-created documents
- PDF files, screenshots, edited images or images carrying known generation/editing metadata
- Blurred, cropped, incomplete, expired or illegible prescriptions
- Documents belonging to another patient or inconsistent with the order
- A prescription already used, unless the prescriber expressly permits repeat dispensing and applicable law allows it
Verification and dispensing
Our pharmacist may verify the prescriber, registration details, patient information, medicine, dosage, date and authenticity. Additional information or a fresh prescription may be requested. For applicable Schedule H, H1 and X drugs, a prescription must not be dispensed more than once unless repeat dispensing is expressly authorised by the prescriber.
How customers should manage prescriptions
- Keep the original prescription safely after uploading it
- Upload only your own or your authorised dependent’s prescription
- Do not edit, enhance, annotate or reuse the uploaded image
- Follow the prescribed dose and duration and consult the prescriber before any change
- Contact support to correct account information or raise a privacy concern
How we protect prescription data
A prescription contains personal and health information. We collect it for prescription verification, lawful dispensing, order support, fraud prevention and required record-keeping. We limit disclosure to personnel and service providers who need it for those purposes, or where disclosure is required by law.
- A unique SHA-256 fingerprint is stored to detect exact duplicate uploads and reuse
- Account authentication and role-based workflows limit access through the application
- Reasonable technical and organisational safeguards are used against unauthorised access, alteration or disclosure
- Records are retained only for operational, legal, regulatory and dispute-resolution needs and are then deleted or anonymised where permitted
Indian legal framework
This policy is designed around applicable provisions and phased requirements of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 and Drugs Rules, 1945, Pharmacy Practice Regulations, 2015, Information Technology Act, 2000 and SPDI Rules, 2011, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and Rules, 2025. Requirements may change, and the law and directions of the competent regulator prevail over this summary.
